| Pamela Taylor Early Childhood Education, flute, piano | |
| (return to teacher list) | Pamela started playing the flute at the age of 10; piano at age 11. She studied both instruments at Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Geoffrey Gilbert, the world-renowned principal flutist of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, was one of her most influential teachers. With nearly thirty years of experience both as a performer and as a teacher, Pamela Taylor has trained hundreds of piano and flute students from age 3 – 70. Many have gone on to productive musical careers of their own. Pamela currently appears as principal and second flutist/piccolo player for the Orchestra of St. Peter By-The-Sea and Metro Lyric Opera Company, along with a number of other ensembles. She also teaches Early Childhood Music at the JCC in Allentown, and has studied music therapy and yoga, both of which she integrates in her teaching practice. Pamela wants her students to learn more than simply how to play an instrument. | Hector Rosado (Congas, Timbales, Bongos, Drums, more) | |
It was in his early toddler years when his mother (Maria) knew he had a natural- born gift that would make him a multi-talented musician. Maria would quietly watch her son as a toddler; she was convinced music ran through his veins. She bought him his first real congas at the age of ten. Inspired by the photos on his brothers wall of Ray Barreto, and the music that echoed from a distance, he knew he was ready to begin his lifetime journey in the music industry. Hector’s first gig was at age twelve with a local band making a whopping twelve dollars. Later he set out on his journey to became a Professional Percussionist in New York City. After working in a factory for several months, Hector got his big break with Conjunto Creama. Conjunto performed at clubs known as Broadway 96, Casa Blanca, Village Gate, Casino 14, Meadow Lands Arena, El Poso (an after hour club), during the 80’s. Hector’s hard work soon attracted attention and he became one of the best and most requested percussionists around. He began working with David Byrne (from the Talking Heads). Hector toured Japan, Israel, Australia, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Portugal, and Brazil. He has appeared with David Byrne on the Johnny Carson Show and on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He covered World tours with Monster in the Mirror Tour, and Between the Teeth Video. Hector has since performed, and toured with Edgar Joel to Venezuela, Jose Alberto (El Canario) to Santo Domingo, accompanied the late Tito Puente to Argentina, and Colombia with the late Celia Cruz. Hector has accompanied many famous national and international artists. He continues to perform with well known artists including Brenda K. Star, Aretha Franklin, Hector Tricoche, Ray Sepulveda, Luis Luigi, Cano Estremera, Andy Montanez, Marlon, Michael Stuart, NG2, Willie Rosario, Tony Vega, Kuto Soto, Jimmy Delgado, Marvin Santiago, and the all talented Johnny Pacheco from (Fania All-Star Legend). Hector is currently teaching percussion to school children in the Reading school district, at CMS, as well as continuing to perform. Working with children from all types of background, homes, ethnics, and beliefs can sometimes be challenging, but so very rewarding. Music helps children communicate with others and helps drive creativity, self-esteem and self-confidence. |
