| FLUTE CHOIR |

We invite you to participate in our CMS Flute Choir. You will experience the joy of performing music with others. Learn to play with other flutists while you study everything from Bach to the Blues. Learn leadership skills through the rotation of parts.
No audition is necessary; placement will be made at the first lesson. CMS requires a minimum enrollment of six students for the class to begin, so bring your friends and register today. There will be a maximum of fifteen students per class. Six weeks of great flute playing! |

| MUSICAL IMPROVISATION |

| Brass, woodwinds, and piano students learn the art of improvisation through the study of jazz performance techniques, such as soloing through chord changes, and the study of music theory and its vital connection to improvisation. Students will reinforce their studies with “break-out” sessions and group improvisation. Please, a minimum enrollment of six students for each session to begin. |

| SAXOPHONE ENSEMBLE |

We promise this class will begin your journey to fine saxophone performance and it is a great launch pad toward ensemble performance.
We will learn basic skills, note reading, learn some history and theory, plus, do lots of playing! Please we request an enrollment of six students to begin each class. |

| PERCUSSION GROUP |

Analog to digital recording techniques changed the music industry.
This class will help students to participate in the “percussion sections” which were so predominant in the 60’s and early 70’s recording sessions, producing so many classic hits in Rock, Latin, Jazz and commercial music. We will breakdown famous recording sessions. There will be handouts for each recording. Student input is encouraged.
Let Jon, former CBS contract percussionist (Columbia Studios) take you on the percussion journey. Please, CMS requires a minimum of six students to begin each six-week session, so tell your friends about this great class! Program is available every six weeks throughout the year. Each session is six weeks in length. |

| The class introduces or reinforces basic songwriting techniques and music theory used for writing love songs, ballads, R&B tunes, classically oriented jingles and much more. Join us for one, two, or all four Saturday afternoons for this opportunity to learn from the expert in vocal performance. Please, we request an enrollment of six students for each class. |

| SUZUKI GROUP – Violin, Viola |

Time & Date: Group Sessions are offered throughout the year. Groups meet one time each week; placement is determined by student level of musical expertise. Please call the administration to schedule your group lessons. A minimum of six youngsters are required for any group to begin. Each class is 45 minutes in length; one time each week.

Once lessons begin you will explore, create and understand music through developmentally appropriate and repetitive activities; all the while creating a musically stimulating environment. Your child learns the skills needed to play the violin in a supportive, encouraging learning environment that is sure to inspire a long-lasting desire to play the violin and encourage working with other group members.

| EARLY CHILDHOOD ENRICHMENT |

Research studies’ detail the relationship between arts educations, primarily music-based instruction, and the impact of that education. It is a subject with intrinsic cultural and artistic value and a skill-based activity that nurtures developmental and cognitive aspects for every child. It is believed music instruction is part of a complete education and essential for development.
All classes are under the direction of Pamela Taylor, instructor. All classes are offered on Monday or Tuesday early afternoons. YOU choose the day and time that best fits your schedule. Each session is for six weeks in length, ongoing throughout the season. CMS does request a minimum of six students for each class to begin. Tuition reflects each session. |
