| Mariachi Corazon del Valle de CMS |
| New students and current students alike will enjoy our journey into Mariachi.
The journey of discovery begins. Students find themselves at the crossroads of musical traditions from different continents – Classical, Baroque, and Folk. |
Ages:
Intermediate – Advanced students of strings, brass and voice.
Knowledge of Spanish is not required but is helpful. |

| Ensemble exercises based in rhythm begin each session. Mariachi terminology in Spanish and proper pronunciation of the lyrics will come next as it is an important part of Mariachi tradition – the chorus. Each music discipline will focus on their part; all coming together each lesson. Needed: guitarron, vihuela, trumpet, violins, violas, voice. |

| High quality performance techniques will be honed during these sessions. Leadership skills continue with rotation of parts. The CMS Silver Winds have performed throughout the Valley as ambassadors for CMS. If you really enjoy performance with a great group of young musicians then the Silver Winds is the place for you. | CMS encourages all flute students to participate in our CMS Flute Choir. The joy of performing music with others is a super experience; learn from the teacher and learn from each other. All genres of music from Bach to the Blues are learned. There is no audition necessary. CMS does require a minimum of six students to enroll for the program to begin. Six weeks, 1.5 hours each week of great flute playing, plus, enjoy performance in numerous venues at CMS and in the Valley. |

| The easy and inexpensive way to introduce children to the world of great music – the Flutophone. Learn proper fingering techniques, how to read music and have fun. From the very first lesson your son/daughter will be playing their very own flutophone. CMS does require a minimum enrollment of six students to begin each session. |

| If you really want to learn to play the saxophone, enroll in our Saxophone Ensemble and you will be on your way to great Sax performance. Once you learn the basics you will be on your way to joining Impressions, THE Jazz Ensemble that performs throughout the Valley. It is loads of fun! CMS does request a minimum enrollment of six students to begin the class. |

Auditions will be held the first Thursday of each session for placement. Participants learn the basics of vocal production, intonation, harmony and rhythm. Reading and listening skills are taught, as the children learn songs and rhythm exercises to develop their musical talents. Our goal is performing together in a small choir. CMS requests a minimum enrollment of six youngsters for the program to begin. |
