S.T.E.P
SUZUKI TALENT EDUCATION PROGRAM - Violin, Viola, Piano |

| A minimum of six youngsters are required for any
group to begin. Private and or semi-private instruction is offered
daily (each student taking lessons one time each week) plus one weekly
group instruction. |

The journey begins as we invite you to observe both a group class
and a private lesson while you await the delivery of your child’s
violin that has been measured specifically for him/her. Enjoy the
opportunity to speak with our educators prior to any lesson. Gain
insight into their wealth of experience. It is a journey worth taking.
The CMS S.T.E.P. program will open a world of new experiences to
both you and your youngster.
Once lessons begin you will explore, create and understand music
through developmentally appropriate and repetitive activities; all
the while creating a musically stimulating environment. The bond
between parent and child strengthens and grows.
Our S.T.E.P. Program involves weekly private or semi-private lessons
and weekly group sessions. |
Parent Class |
| For new S.T.E.P. enrollment: Parents of students
enrolling in the Program will be required to attend one Parent Orientation
Class in order to familiarize parents with the method of teaching,
the supporting philosophy, and gain insight into how you (the parent
or caregiver) fits into the ‘triangle.’ A must attend two-hour
class. There is a modest cost for the program and materials you will
use throughout your child’s musical adventure. Call for details

Group instruction includes a minimum of six students and a maximum

CMS invites you to explore the exciting world of chamber music.
Discover the beauty of the genre while developing ensemble and
leadership skills. Learn teamwork, discover your creativity, and
all while forming new friendships.
CMS requests a minimum enrollment of five students to begin the
class. String Chamber Ensemble runs each of the four quarters of
the year, meeting for nine weeks each Monday for one hour each
session. |

each month for violin/viola Master Class. First Saturday series begins
on October 6, 2007.
All levels are welcome! Gain performance experience with constructive
feedback from both an instructor and your peers. Sessions will be
on the first Saturday of each month and will last one hour in length.
Bring your most recent piece for polishing or bring a tricky spot
for technical advice. Minimum enrollment each class of four students. |

Learning to play the guitar is lots of fun!
And, you will learn within just nine weeks. Let Mr. Hitchcock introduce
you to basic chord vocabulary and strumming technique. This class
is an ideal setting for those students who wish to learn the basic
concept of how to accompany a singer or a vocal group. Learn exercises
that will aid in learning chords and in playing simple melodies,
plus, strengthen the hands for coordination and endurance. Please,

We invite you to participate
in our CMS Flute Choir. You will experience the joy of performing music with others.
Learn to play with other flutists while you study everything from
Bach to the Blues. Learn leadership skills through the rotation
of parts. And, enjoy the many opportunities for performances throughout
the community with your group. No audition is necessary; placement
will be made at the first lesson. CMS requires
a minimum enrollment of six students for the class to begin, so
bring your friends and register today. There will be a maximum of fifteen students per
class. Nine weeks of great flute playing each quarter!

If you have always wanted to learn to play the
piano, this class will give you some of the basics to get you started.
You will learn rhythm, note reading, technique, simple improvisation,
and the ability to play several songs. Come and explore. Make music
a part of your life. Learning has never been as great as it is in
our State-of-the-Art Presser Piano Lab. Please, a minimum enrollment
of five students is required before the program can begin, so bring
your friends and you can all learn together.

Students of all ages can learn together. This
class is ideal for parents with their children, children of different
ages, adults, and seniors. No previous knowledge
of music is necessary. Instruments
can be purchased for as little as $10.00! Wow! The music is gathered
from folk songs and dances from all over the world. CMS does require
a minimum enrollment of five students for this class to begin. So,

I LOVE TO SING

right for you. Participants will learn the basics of vocal production,

Level: Intermediate and Advanced saxophone

and performance dates which are subject to some change; you will
be notified).

Calling ALL saxophone students…soprano, alto, tenor,
and baritone! The CMS SAXOPHONE ENSEMBLE provides students with an
opportunity to play with other students around their same age and
ability level. Students will learn fundamental skills essential
for playing all styles of music. The repertoire will include many
genres of music: from classical to popular and jazz. Chamber music
places special emphasis on effective rehearsal techniques, independent
and collective musical judgment, intonation, and stylistic concerns. |
